Complete Source Code
You get the complete source code for the demo program with detailed documentation. This enables you to customize the program to meet your specific needs. By modifying the source code you will be able to connect to any data source, and direct the output to any device, file or table. The source code is available in C#.
Sample code for the included components (Address Object and Presort Object) is available in numerous languages.
The Address Object verifies, corrects, and standardizes addresses against the USPS National Address File.
The CASS Certified search engine in the Address Object adds ZIP + 4 codes using the DPV and LACSLink systems, mandatory for discounted mailings in 2007.
DPV matches the records in your list to one of the 145,000,000+ delivery points (deliverable addresses) on file with the USPS before appending the ZIP + 4 code. It validates accurate delivery address information and identifies inaccurate, incomplete, or erroneous addresses contained in your file.
LACSLink provides the new address for addresses that have been converted primarily from rural-style addresses to city-style addresses by local municipalities that have implemented a 9-1-1 emergency system. It also includes addresses that may have been renamed or renumbered.
The Presort Object sorts all qualifying mail pieces into groups by ZIP Code. All of the pieces going to the same destination get grouped into the same package or tray. It will sort to specific areas, and then work its way down to more general areas. It costs the Postal Service less money to process and deliver those pieces of mail, so they pass that savings on to you in the form of postage discounts.
